The basic salary of an Agriculture Field Officer under JMGS (Junior Management Grade Scale – I) is in a similar scale as that of Probationary Officer, i.e. Rs 36000-1490(7)-46430-1740(2)-49910-1990(7)-63840.

Salary Components and Allowances/Perks Offered 

  • Basic Pay: It is the basic salary for Specialist Officers, excluding all allowances and bonus components. As previously stated, the IBPS SO base salary is Rs. 36000/-.
  • Dearness Allowance (DA): This is the cost of living based on the basic pay provided by the bank. DA is now valued at 26% of basic pay which is about Rs 9400/-.
  • Special Allowance: This allowance stands at 16.4 % of the Basic Pay.
  • House Rent Allowance (HRA): As the name implies, HRA covers the employee’s lodging expenses in the city where he or she lives. HRA varies depending on the location of employment, ranging from 9% – 7%. 
  • City Compensatory Allowance (CCA): CCA is provided to help employees working in metropolitan areas cope with the high expense of living. CCA is normally 4 percent, 3 percent, or 0 percent, depending on where you work.

Net Salary for AFO – They receive almost Rs 48000-50000/- as in-hand after all the deduction. 

  • Employees also receive different allowances, such as Newspaper, Medical Coverage, Travel Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Furniture Allowance, and so on, in addition to the foregoing components.

Specialist bank officers are excused from serving in rural areas for a minimum of two years. Specialist officers are authorized to join the main stream cadre if they have completed the aforementioned prerequisites and are eligible for promotions based on the eligibility and experience listed in the table above.

If any specialist officer joins Public Sector Bank on a scale higher than JMG Scale I, the minimum eligibility of service requirement would apply as per the table above. For example, if an officer enters at Scale II, the minimum length of service for promotion from Scale IV to Scale V will be 9 years instead of 12 years.
